  | Project Management Breakthroughs
Finally…a project management program that delivers what it promises
Project Management is one of the most powerful; least understood and most underutilized management techniques. Finally teams can develop a new mental framework for dealing with projects. Our focus is on the simplification and practical application of project management. We demystify what people tend to think of as huge engineering type disciplines by taking the best few tools out of the “project management world” and getting people to use them effectively. The program focuses on the management of work in order to reach a clear set of outcomes. About 70% of the program is spent doing increasingly complex assigned projects as part of a team. Once learned, the Priority process is disarmingly simple!Today’s organizations face serious challenges in project management. - More and more work is being redefined as projects.
- Everybody’s idea of project management differs.
- In an era of diminishing resources and increasing expectations projects can seem overwhelming and the complexity of what must be done can appear too great.
- Few people have project management skills that are practical and effective.
Program OutlineOur unique 3-Day program gives you tools and a process you can use immediately. As training experts, Priority knows that adults learn by doing, not just listening. Participants will learn a proven process for project management that can be immediately understood by each individual (team member) no matter how diverse the people, departments and discipline involved. An effective process that can accommodate constant change! Each day the course will consist of instructions, discussions, question and answer periods, team exercises, case studies, debriefings, coaching and commentary. Day OneIntroduction to a “new mental framework” that will become the “model” providing direction for the three days and all subsequent project work. Introduction to the principles of Genesis, Design, Execution, Planning, Time Scaled Dependency charts, Objective driven logic, Resource allocation and project costing. Mastering the art of simplification is at the heart of our Project Management Program
Day TwoIncludes group-planning exercises. Project teams will work on a case study that includes all the previous day’s principles and techniques. The day will finish with teams commencing work on another case study – a very real, challenging exercise that will demand attention to all the techniques and knowledge presented earlier. Day ThreeThe assembled teams will continue work on a final case study and subsequently present the finished plans. By the end of day three, graduates will have worked in teams to complete four case study projects of increasing scope and complexity. Graduates Will- Bring a common process and language that will inspire teams to operate effectively towards achieving organizational, departmental and other team goals.
- Learn to take strategic plan objectives and put them through a systematic process, producing tactical plans that are actionable.
